About the Retreat

Would you like to go deeper into the first series of Ashtanga Yoga and finally start the second series in peace?

Then you've come to the right place. Away from everyday life, you can simply have 6 days just for yourself to take part in an Ashtanga yoga retreat in a fantastic environment with a nice small group (max. 12 participants) and delicious soul food.

Connected to nature, we start every morning with meditation and breathing exercises (Pranayama). Afterwards, we practice Mysore style or guided count classes with the aim of developing strength and flexibility as well as a calm mind.

There are two-hour themed workshops on four evenings and plenty of time for questions.
This retreat location is simply perfect to relax your mind and body and simply be in the moment.

I'm really looking forward to seeing you!!

More about Silke & Mike

I (Silke) have been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for 23 years. Lately I've become more and more aware that besides all the technique and alignment, the nervous system plays a central role. Simply put, we can only practice yoga in an atmosphere in which we feel comfortable. Only then can the body relax and give in, new movement and possibly behavioral patterns can develop and our mind can come to rest.
It is always important to me, whether in the home yoga studio in Düsseldorf or in the yoga retreat, that you feel comfortable.

Mike has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga for 5 years and  completed the 500 hour Ashtanga Yoga training in September 2023.
I am happy that he will assist me during the week and that he will
certainly ensure well-being with his positive manner :-).

Accommodation and Facilities

Our retreat centre is set in 2.5 acres of grounds in a valley filled with olive and almond groves.

Accommodation consists of six twin rooms  and one double room all with private ensuite bathroom. All rooms have been renovated to a high standard using locally sourced materials, to create a luxurious yet simple and understated feel. A large outdoor courtyard provides the main communal eating space, and several outdoor terraces offer a place to relax in the sun or the shade.

Situated at the heart of the complex, the swimming pool acts like a colourful meeting point – with the blue water combining with the green olive trees and the red soil.

Food plays a central role in both our yoga practice and life. We believe food should be varied, unprocessed and nourishing to promote energy and wellbeing. The food we serve is predominantly plant based with some vegetarian options. All produce we source and grow at YogApulia is local, seasonal and organic wherever possible.

Refreshments are also available throughout the day and include tea, coffee, water & fruit.

The international airport at Brindisi is approximately 40 minutes drive away and Bari is further to the north approximately 55 minutes drive. Hiring a car in Puglia is relatively inexpensive and provides a great way to explore the surrounding countryside, local historical towns and beaches. Both Bari and Brindisi airports have a large selection of hire car companies including Avis and Hertz. It is recommended to book a car before your arrival. Alternatively, we can arrange a taxi to collect you on your arrival.
