6th April - 13th April 2019
About the Retreat
We are so thrilled to have Becky Pell and Sarah Vaughan offer a week of Ashtanga and Restorative yoga to ‘find your balance’. This will be our very first retreat at YogApulia.
We start each morning with a sitting meditation and an Ashtanga ‘Mysore’ practice, where you will receive individual guidance and adjustments from us both.
There are six practice days (Sunday-Friday) The ‘Mysore’ week will start with a guided class and we will continue to assist and guide you through the week. You will develop your understanding of the ashtanga sequence enabling a freedom to find space and joy in your practice.
There will be optional afternoon workshop sessions to work on specific questions and aspects of the practice that arise through the week. The late afternoon sessions (approx 2 hours) led by Becky are gently restorative. She is a Senior Ashtanga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals and a second series practitioner with extensive experience and knowledge of both the primary and second series ashtanga practice. Her teaching style is warm and inspiring, clear and responsive to the individual.
Becky is a fully qualified Yoga Therapist (British Council for Yoga Therapy; Yoga Australia) whose passion is helping her clients and students apply the tools and teachings of yoga to their everyday lives. She lives in the Sunshine Coast of Australia where she runs a private Yoga Therapy clinic and teaches workshops. Her style is playful and accessible, meeting people where they are and guiding them to find greater depths in their yoga practice, and helping them use yoga to make their own lives a better place to be.
Accommodation and Facilities
Our retreat centre is set in 2.5 acres of grounds in a valley filled with olive and almond groves.
Accommodation consists of seven twin/double bedrooms all with private ensuite bathrooms and AC for the hottest summer months. We are renovating all rooms to a high standard using locally sourced materials, and are aiming to create a luxurious yet simple and understated feel. A large outdoor courtyard will provide the main communal eating space, and several outdoor terraces offer a place to relax in the sun or the shade.
Situated at the heart of the complex, the swimming pool acts like a colourful meeting point – with the blue water combining with the green olive trees and the red soil.
The international airport at Brindisi is approximately 40 minutes drive away and Bari is further to the north approximately 55 minutes drive. Hiring a car in Puglia is relatively inexpensive and provides a great way to explore the surrounding countryside, local historical towns and beaches. Both Bari and Brindisi airports have a large selection of hire car companies including Avis and Hertz. It is recommended to book a car before your arrival.
